The allure of productivity systems

Productivity porn is a thing. An obsession with to-do lists, calendars, systems.

But mostly: apps.

They promise magic. Suddenly being able to manage your time. To be more creative. More successful.

They spark the dream of becoming like the most successful people on earth.

Productivity systems promise success. Always in the same way: with structure. A place for notes, tasks, appointments. To sort, to remember.

It's the structure that helps, not the app. The form is different for everyone.

Yet all these systems present us with a blank page. A fresh start.

And with it, the dream of what could be.
