Contrast as anchor

10 February 2025

A good story or a strong speech plays with contrast.

Every story needs a clear point. A statement. But without contrast, its impact fades. An argument only gains sharpness when it sets itself against something.

Contrast makes a message stronger. It gives the reader an anchor.

Reversals work too. They expose flawed reasoning. They show what happens when logic is flipped. And they add lightness to the message.

Strong communication isn’t just about what you say. It’s about what you set it against.
