For some reason I like productivity tools. Anything that makes running a business easier. And for the longest time I have been amazed at the monopoly position of the big ERP software builders like SAP, SalesForce and NetSuite. In particular how crappy those ERP systems are.
I understand why those systems are stuck in the 90s. They are complicated, super customisable, Behemoths. Impossible to product-manage.
But with the rise of tools like Notion, and the broad-acceptance of a more opinionated tech stack, that can be extended with plugins, it seemed weird to me that no new ERP systems emerged.
